Bentley Community Schools is located in Burton, MI. The district currently services 870 students, ranging in age from Pre-K through twelfth grade. In addition to our traditional high school program we also offer a blended online learning academy for students who are seeking their high school diploma through a different means than the traditional high school model.
Bentley prides itself on being a close-knit, family friendly community. Parents are highly involved and always welcomed within each of the school buildings. The staff gets to know the students very well and works hard to make sure students individual needs are met both academically and socially.
The Middle School building was reopened at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year and we have seen dramatic improvements in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students' behaviors. We are anticipating higher performance in academic areas as evidenced by our standardized assessments beginning with the 2014-15 school year as a result of the students' placement in a developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Our high school was the recipient of the school-wide technology grant that has placed an iPad in the hands of every high school student and teacher beginning in 2014. Extensive professional development will accompany this initiative and we look forward to heightened levels of student engagement.
Finally, the elementary and middle schools have been approved for school-wide Title I status so the schools can implement school-wide systems of academic and social/emotional intervention.
The High School and Middle School were recently voted the “Best Schools in Burton.”
The Bentley Community Schools’ District is undergoing transformational change as we prepare to be highly competitive in all areas. It is our goal to be the little district everyone wants to be in.
